Mansfield Town Football Club have teamed up with Skill Force to help students towards their Duke of Edinburgh award.
Midfielder Matt Somner and Defender Gary Silk helped students navigate around Sherwood Forest as part of their training for the award, which they will do on 22 June 2010. Other activities that Mansfield Town FC players have been involved in with Skill Force students include cycling, raft building and a tour around Nottingham Forest’s City Ground.
Student Levi Allgood said: “We train every two weeks so it’s really nice to see other people joining in, especially some of the Mansfield Town players. Skill Force has helped me get into West Notts College to do catering because I want to be a chef”.
Mansfield Town Football Club will also be donating 10 footballs to Skill Force in their support for the charity and the young people that it helps.
