SkillForce Students on Residential

As a Young person studying with SkillForce we commit to:

  • Treating you as an individual- we understand people learn in different ways- some learn through listening and learning others require a more active learning approach. We aim to understand you as an individual as well as part of the group you study with.

  • We will provide a curriculum that is interesting and useful to you as you head into adult life- but also fun. With qualifications that are relevant to employers, further education and training organisations. These qualifications are accessible not because of your academic ability but your ability to apply yourself to studying them.

  • Our instructors will treat you with respect and consideration – expecting that in return you will do the same. Many are from extraordinary backgrounds having served in the military in Afganistan and Iraq. They have served and made a significant contribution to the communities they work for. They are aiming to have a positive influence in your life- a role model for the future.

  • Our instructors will mentor you- there will be rewards for positive action and behaviour- at the same time we will make clear the consequences of poor behaviour.

  • We will help you experience new things- for example as part of our year long program of study we take you on a residential away from your local environment. There we help you tackle challenges outside your “comfort Zone”- again equipping you for the future as an adult.

But mostly as a graduate of SkillForce we want you to leave school with a sense of achievement and pride in yourselves – with a self belief to go on and do what you aspire to do next. SkillForce graduates go on to be community leaders making an active contribution to the world they live in.
