Working with Trusts and Foundations…
Grant-making Trusts and Foundations provide vital support for our work with children and young people. While some of our income derives from statutory sources (in response to the number of statutory services we provide), however donations from grant-making Trusts are crucial in helping us provide with young people innovative programmes that meet their particular and individual needs.
Support from Trusts and Foundations to date has enabled Skill Force to increase the reach of the programme from 190 participants per year to over 700 in Scotland through expanding from 1 to 6 teams; and to open up opportunities to an additional 160 young people per year in the Manchester area from September 06. In the North East a further 2 instructors funded through Trust and Foundation support have been able to pilot a range of shorter programmes to schools throughout the region, significantly increasing the number of young people leaving school with positive outcomes.
If you are a Trustee or know of a Trust that may support our work, we would be very pleased to hear from you. Please contact us.
Here are some examples of how your Trust or Foundation could help us:
• £150 could help pay for internet services for one of our remote based team for a year.
• £1,000 could help us buy computer equipment for young people engaged on our programmes.
• £3,000 could help us run a First Aid Course for Parents.
• £5,000 could help us run a summer activity break away for a group of difficult to reach children.
• £7,500 could help pay for a National Qualifications workshop that provides students with valued educational points, which are viewed positively by potential employers and can also be used to gain a place in Further Education or .
• £20,000 could help support the costs of a minibus that would allow our teams to take our students on outdoor exercises that challenge attitudes and inspire achievement.
