SkillForce says thank you to a host of companies at Big Breakfast event

This month SkillForce was pleased to host a successful Big Breakfast event at its Nottinghamshire offices.

The get together was a chance for SkillForce to say thanks to the dozens of fantastic companies who have helped deliver the Prince William Award this year by supplying services such as graphic design and insurance or work wear, badges and trophies!

It has been a truly amazing year for SkillForce and the first full delivery of the Prince William Award has been a huge success. This was undoubtedly helped by working alongside high quality, high performance business partners and SkillForce felt it was important to recognise that.

As guests gathered to enjoy food and networking, the Big Breakfast was a great opportunity for CEO Ben Slade to explain more about SkillForce’s pioneering new award programme, The Prince William Award and help our partner businesses understand more about how their services form part of the charity’s important work.

Not only that, it presented the perfect opportunity to launch the Big Breakfast campaign – which  calls on everyone, anywhere to hold a Big Breakfast event in aid of SkillForce. The idea is that families, groups, clubs or workplaces can hold a breakfast ‘party’ which sees their network come together while raising money for the character education programmes SkillForce runs across the UK.

Staff at Central Services were really thrilled to have the opportunity to put faces to the names of those they spend so much time liaising with on the phone and also to say a big say thank you.

Each business was presented with a framed certificate thanking them for their support and the event was photographed by award winning photographer Ursula Kelly.

There was also the opportunity for Director of Fundraising Lucinda Foulkes-Arnold to talk about SklillForce’s charity of the year appeal.

This year is the first time the charity has appealed to businesses and organisations to make it their charity of the year. Lucinda asked business teams to get their fundraising thinking caps on to help us deliver life-changing programmes to young people that help develop vital confidence, resilience and self-belief. Ideas included holding sponsored events in the office or workplace in aid of SkillForce or offering the charity pro bono support.

SkillForce cannot deliver the Prince William Award, or any of its other programmes without your support.

If you’re one of the businesses who attended our Big Breakfast event – thank you, it was great to see you. Please have a think about ways in which you could help us further.
