Charity of the year

SkillForce Charity of the Year appeal 2018

SkillForce is delighted to be launching its first charity of the year appeal.

We’re excited to invite businesses across England, Scotland and Wales to work with us to transform the lives of children and young people across the UK, by daring them to be their best selves.

Making SkillForce your charity of the year is an incredible opportunity to help inspire confidence, resilience and self-belief in the next generation.

By raising funds for SkillForce you will be enabling more children across the UK to take part in our life enhancing programmes.

Through our work with children and young people we are also able to offer continued and meaningful employment to Armed Forces veterans who train as instructors in our award programmes, giving them the chance to continue a career of service to others.

Our Impact

SkillForce programmes are already impacting the lives of so many and the results are very positive

70% of pupils noticed improvements in their confidence and self esteem.

The chance to make a difference

Our character education programmes are already helping to raise, not only the academic attainment of the children and young people we work with, but their aspirations and their self-belief. Our programmes give children the time and space to achieve, the chance to develop a sense of their own worth and to understand that they deserve the best for themselves.

We believe in reaching people at a young age to give them the very best chance of developing confidence and resilience so that they can not only deal with the inevitable pitfalls of life, but that they are also able to grasp the many wonderful opportunities that may come their way.

Our programmes are not just for children and young people but for the adults they will become.

What can you do to help?

A charity like SkillForce needs help in many areas. Of course, financial support is very welcome but there are so many ways we would love to work with you, for example:

Alex Young, Instructor

“It’s very rewarding to see the change in the young people on the SkillForce programme.
Some of the primary school pupils were previously, shy or scared of speaking up in class or reticent to try new challenges, and we see them develop confidence and team working skills.”

Michelle Walton, Headteacher Brocks Hill Primary, Leicestershire

“We are now two thirds of the way through the Prince William Award this year and it has already had a profound impact on developing the character of the children involved.
“The depth of learning has been incredible and exceeded our expectations. I would strongly urge all leaders working with young people to get involved.”
