Over the past four years the Skill Force Oxford team have established an excellent reputation for delivering innovative, exciting and valuable programmes to their students.  We are now looking to recruit a talented assistant instructor to join this successful team.

Highly effective communication and relationship building skills are required along with a desire to instruct motivate and support the development of young people. Team Assistant Instructors should have experience of instructing or mentoring young people and of planning and administering the successful delivery of new lessons.

 

There is a progression pathway that will develop successful Assistant Instructors into Instructors over 16-24 months.  Given Skill Force’s intention to develop candidates, we expect applicants to demonstrate a willingness to seek continuous professional development and the potential to progress into a more demanding role. Recognised outdoor education qualifications are desirable (but not essential) as is a desire to work with and support the development of young people.

Applicants should hold a clean driving licence, preferably with the ability to drive mini buses (D1). All successful applicants will be subject to Criminal Records Bureau checks to enhanced level.

Casual Work Opportunities

We are seeking to recruit a number of people to work on a casual basis alongside our current long established teams. These roles are required to provide additional support and cover during busy periods, residential and occasional staff absences.

 

We are seeking individuals who have:

  • Experience of working with challenging young people.
  • An ability to support the delivery of activities such as Wider Key Skills, First Aid, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, or First Aid. This is not essential but  desirable.
  • An instructional or teaching qualification would be most desirable but not  essential.
  • Highly effective communication and relationship building skills are required along with a desire to instruct motivate and support the development of young people
  • A self starter with a discipline to work independently.
  • A good team player requiring minimum supervision who is flexible enough to work on many differing tasks at one time
  • Applicants should hold a driving licence (ability to drive Mini buses with D1 Category would be advantageous). 
  • Able to work between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday
